Design Features
-
Each hold uses 10mm(Imperial equivalent) countersunk bolts.
-
The countersink on each Bolt-on hold and screw-on hold is smooth to ensure maximum contact for improved strength.
-
In certain cases e.g. slopers, the boltholes are surface-flush with the hold to prevent 'french-thumb'.
-
Each hold is branded with a Bleaustone logo
-
We do not use washers in our holds or any form of insert as this would only reduce the inherent strength of the hold.
Extras
Surface hardening
If you have a busy wall then ideally you want your holds to last; surface hardening will extend the surface life of your holds considerably
Surface hardening is an additional process in the manufacturing stage of our holds and was originally developed for holds where friction is crucial - where it is crucial we've put it as standard, so all of our slopers come surface hardened. This is available as an added extra on all other types of holds.
Rubber backing
If you have a resin wall or heavily featured wall, fixing holds securely and safely can be a problem - some holds may break if attached to an uneven surface, others could spin.
To combat these problems, we've developed a rubber backing that dramatically reduces the chance of a hold spinning on a smooth wall, and making it ideal for resin featured walls as it can mould to the uneven surface underneath and thus reduce the risk of breakeage considerably.
Testing
Our materials are tested to failure using a recognised International Standards method where a bar of material is suspended between two points and subjected to a point load in the centre. The stress-strain behaviour and flexural strengths of the different types of material can then be accurately measured.
Colour
The most popular colours are the fluorescents; these include orange, yellow, pink and green.
We keep stock of most standard colours and can make to order almost any colour you like. We can also do on request two or three colour swirls and even spotty holds.
